The Fort Bragg / Pope Air Force Base Reservation adjoins the southeastern border of Moore County, while Camp Mackall is adjacent to our southern tip. Many men and women serving at these installations live in Moore County and make the daily 35-minute commute to Fort Bragg. The County also has a large number of retired military personnel who have settled here to enjoy the unsurpassed quality of life.

Fort Bragg is currently working with the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, among other area Chambers, to help local businesses become aware of and take advantage of contract relationships with the military. The Moore County Chamber has created a local Military Affairs Council to facilitate these opportunities. » In October 2006, a Moore County construction company, O'Connor Company of N.C., Inc., was awarded a $3.2 million contract at Fort Bragg to construct a 70,000 square-foot indoor shooting range.
