MOORE COUNTY AIRPORT
The Moore County Airport (SOP) is county-owned and based in Southern Pines. Open from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily, the airport provides a full range of services for private aircraft, as well as for passengers and pilots.  Charter services are available through Time Saver Aviation.

 

Commercial Air Service At Moore County Airport
A Moore County Airport Task Force is diligently pursuing bringing commercial air service back to the airport.  Discussions with airlines are continuing.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport
Moore County is within an hour’s drive to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), which offers passenger and cargo air services. Nine (9) major airlines and 7 regional carriers offer flights to 34 destinations.  Cargo services are provided by numerous freight forwarders and 5 all-cargo carriers currently leasing 95,600 square feet of cargo space.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport
Less than an hour and a half away, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is owned by the City of Charlotte and is located on the west side of the city.  The airport serves commercial, cargo, corporate, private, military and trucking operations.  Seven (7) domestic airlines, 2 foreign flag airlines and 6 regional carriers operate from 1 terminal with 5 Concourses, and provide non-stop service to 136 destinations throughout the world.  CLT is the #1 industrial hub in the southeastern United States offering services from 20 cargo carriers.

Piedmont-Triad International Airport
Situated in between Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, Piedmont-Triad International Airport (GSO) is less than two hours away.  Sixteen (16) air carriers commercial airlines offer non-stop services to 15 cities.  This airport is also a multi-modal cargo facility handling virtually all types of cargo through 3 cargo carriers, and nearly all major trucking lines operate terminals near the airport.

Fayetteville Regional Airport
Fayetteville Regional Airport (FAY) serves a 12-county region, including Moore County, in southern North Carolina’s Sandhills region.  The airport is serviced by 3 commercial airlines: US Airways Express with daily service to Charlotte NC, and ASA Delta Connection with daily service to Atlanta GA, and American Eagle Airlines with daily service to Dallas/Fort Worth TX.   Three (3) cargo carriers are on site.  Fayetteville, in adjacent Cumberland County, is within an hour’s drive from Moore County.
