USGA PICKS PINEHURST FOR SECOND HEADQUARTERS
The USGA has chosen Pinehurst to establish a second headquarters, Golf House Pinehurst, that includes the relocation of its golf equipment Research & Test Center, construction of a museum and visitor center, and offices for the USGA’s Foundation and Green Section. These facilities will be an investment of at least $25 million and will employ a minimum of 50 employees. In addition, the USGA has committed to bringing multiple championship events to the Pinehurst area over the next 25 years, including several U.S. Men’s and Women’s Opens.
The Golden LEAF Foundation has awarded $200,000 to Partners in Progress to support the USGA’s project to establish Golf House Pinehurst.
“There is no better place for the USGA to plant new roots than the beautiful and iconic Home of American Golf. Thanks to the vision of North Carolina, Moore County and Pinehurst leaders, we are taking a bold step forward and forging a long-term commitment that will elevate our championships, foster greater innovation in golf, and ultimately help grow the game. We look forward to building on our nearly 100-year history in this region, and growing our relationships with the leadership, golf community and residents of this great state.”
